As most things in life, your water well is a system that is prone to damages or breakage. When you choose Cape Fear Well & Pump Company, we do all we can to make sure you get the most efficient water well systems with a good longevity. However, along the road, you may need repairs or replacements. We can also take care of these, but there are some things you should look out for along the way so you can be prepared to give us a call for repair.
- No water flowing from your faucet:
This is an obvious one. If you are not getting any water, something is clearly wrong. This is a big indicator that your well pump is going or has gone bad. If this should happen, just give us a call and we can go over your options or schedule a fix quickly.
- Poor water pressure: This sign is probably a little less obvious as your water pressure can decrease in varying amounts. A more subtle decrease in pressure may go unnoticed for a while.
- Power loss: Even if you are experiencing power loss due to a power trip, this could cause your pump to not function properly. Check to see if your electrical box breaker has been tripped. If it has, turn it back on and see if your system turns on. If you still don't get power, give us a call and we can better assess the situation and provide a solution for you!
- Low water table: This one is out of our hands. A low water table, drought or dry spell could leave your well short of water. You may experience sputtering water from the tap or muddy and murky water. You may also notice an off taste in your water. It is possible for this to just be temporary. You may want to consider also having your well go deeper underground. Our professionals can get this job done!
- Inadequate pump size/ overworked water pump: It is important to make sure the water pump being used is designed to handle the proper amount of water that is being demanded. Your pressure tank should also be sized to handle your home's water use. The pressure tank can help determine how hard and how long a water pump will have to work in a day, so sizing it properly is important.
- Water Sediment: Sediment in your water could cause major damage to a pump by slowly wearing away at the bearings and other components.
It can be tough to tell for sure if your pump is experiencing damages or not fully functioning as it should be. If you have any concerns or you feel as though you want to make sure everything is running smoothly, just give Cape Fear Well & Pump Company a call and talk to our experts. We will make sure you get the proper well work done. From welling drilling and installation to well repair, rely on us for all your wells solutions!
